Columns

Ryans 'Music Thinks' column is packed full of useful advice for musicians of all ages and levels!

Music Thinks is Ryans inspiring column that combines personal growth with music education. It gets to the core issues involved with being a musician such as taking responsibility, losing your excuses and expressing your creativity, as well as practical advice for writing and making great music. Have a look at a few columns here at the Guitar Association of New Zealand website, and gain access to the full column archive when you purchase one of the fantastic online courses!

GANZ is the Guitar Association of New Zealand, which hosts regular clinics and jam nights in Auckland City. Ryan has been a friend of GANZ for some years and his past regular guitar students have included GANZ chairman Phil Ellis and GANZ website coordinator Eric Taylor. You can see some of the Music Thinks columns under ‘guitar notes’ on the Guitar Associations website.

Ryan is a contributor for AudioCulture, “the noisy library of New Zealand music”.

Described as an online celebration of the people who have created the music, the scenes they shaped, and the audiences they played to, AudioCulture is for everyone with an interest in New Zealand popular music; whether they are a music fan looking for entertaining information, an academic looking for facts and figures, or a nostalgia-buff going on a trip down memory lane.
